East Sussex based Millbrook Design & Print Ltd has swept the board at The 1066 Business Awards 2013 including the top accolade, the HSBC Overall Business of the Year. The Robertsbridge print service provider also won the Small Business of the Year Award and picked up a Highly Commended in the Customer Service category.
There were more than 400 entries to The 1066 Business Awards 2013 which took place at the Bannatyne Spa Hotel, Hastings on 26th July. Sponsored overall by HSBC, the awards are designed to give businesses the recognition they deserve and acknowledge the innovative and original ways in which they have succeeded, sometimes against the most challenging odds.
The secret to the company’s success lies at the heart of its print room, where cut sheet, light production digital colour printing is coupled with high quality wide format inkjet printing. The net result is a winning Xerox/Mimaki formula for successful customer retention.
Company director Dave Roderick says: “We have been worked very hard to grow the business around the needs of the market and deliver a range of services that our customers are looking for. Having both cut sheet digital colour and wide format inkjet printers under one roof really is a winning formula because we can supply just about anything our customers’ might want, whether it’s a series of brochures or banners - we can handle everything in house.”
Another significant investment in the past year was a range of digital print finishing kit from Morgana that removed bottlenecks in finishing. “The finishing kit fully rounds out our offering,” says Roderick. “It also means we never have to farm anything out, and this keeps lead times nice and tight, which is another highly attractive proposition for our 300 strong customer base.”
